Project POWER/AmeriCorps

  • About Us

Project POWER (Putting Opportunity Within Everyone's Reach) is a local AmeriCorps program and program of Children First/Communities In Schools. Project POWER strives to increase academic enrichment services, service-learning opportunities, and volunteer coordination support at partner schools, non-profits, and faith-based organizations to directly support vulnerable children in our community. Project POWER AmeriCorps members engage children in activities and initiatives designed to decrease high school drop out rates and additionally encourage community members to engage with area youth through volunteerism. Project POWER/AmeriCorps is supported by a grant from the North Carolina Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service in the office of Governor Roy Cooper.
