  • Mission

EnCorps advocates for equitable STEM education. Anchored in our belief that underrepresented students belong in STEM, we prepare STEM role models to educate and inspire students who lack access to a high-quality science, technology, engineering and math education.

    About Us

EnCorps is dedicated to bridging the STEM education gap by connecting the professional world with public school students in under-resourced communities. We leverage the expertise of experienced STEM professionals to cultivate a new generation of STEM-ready students and teachers. Founded in Los Angeles in 2007 by Sherry Lansing, EnCorps Inc. is committed to ensuring all students have the opportunity to thrive in STEM education.

Our strategic, 360-degree approach focuses on teacher recruitment and retention, providing multiple avenues for impact:

    • EnCorps STEM Teachers Program®: We recruit, vet, and train experienced STEM professionals (with an average of 10+ years in their careers) to become high school instructors, directly addressing the critical STEM teacher shortage.
    • EnCorps STEMx Tutors Program: We build foundational math skills and confidence in middle school students by pairing them with STEM professional and college student volunteers for one-on-one support.
