  • About Us

Founded in August 2019, REACH Siem Reap opened the gates of our community centre on the 4th of March, 2020.

With our goal to improve the living conditions of Cambodian families living in abject poverty, we work alongside guardians to support their basic needs so that their children can continue their education.

Poverty is multidimensional. To break the cycle, children need access to equal opportunities whilst their families also receive holistic support. Once a family is enrolled at REACH, our students and their guardians have access to everything we offer.

Education Program – Providing free supplementary English, Ethics, Sports & Art classes for over 200 underprivileged children. Our Education program gives our student access to quality education whilst supporting them with the resources required to attend public school to receive a full education and gain fair employment in the future.

Outreach Program – A supportive program inclusive for the whole REACH community to attend informative workshops on important social issues and community education. Depending on the emergencies faced by our families, our team of social workers provide beneficiaries with a variety of solutions, such as: emergency medical treatment, urgent food distribution, critical hut repairs, government documentation, dental treatment, clothing, community educational seminars, family planning advice & birth control.

Rice Rewards Program – An incentive-based program to encourage families to send each of their children regularly to both public school and to REACH, while also providing nutritional support to the parents and their families. All children who maintain high attendance rates at both institutions take home 10kg of rice and 10 eggs each month. By helping to alleviate the financial constraints on guardians to feed their families, REACH parents can send their children to school as opposed to the workforce.

Health & Nutrition Program – While at REACH, daily nutritious meals are provided to all primary aged students attending daytime classes, in addition to this, all students have access to clean drinking water, daily multivitamins, toothbrushing, regular parasite treatments and hygiene supplies such as eco-soap are sent home to the families monthly.

Computer Literacy Program – Providing at-risk Cambodian students with access to technology and a computer literacy course to encourage and develop their basic computer literacy skills. This free IT program teachers REACH teenagers the skills that are needed to gain ethical employment or to go onto further education.

Garden Program – The REACH garden, located on the school grounds, is a program incorporated within the education curriculum. Students learn about cultivating crops, in addition to being actively involved in the vegetable growth, and our youth volunteer regularly to contribute to the upkeep of the garden. There is a regular harvest of all vegetables to use in the Health & Nutrition program to increase student’s BMI and nutritional intake.

Youth Pathways Program - Our ‘Youth Pathways’ program seeks to support impoverished youths aged (13+) who, due to poverty, have dropped out of their formal education and are without the skills to acquire fair employment, or are outstanding academic achievers unable to afford their high school education costs. Selected youths in the program receive additional tuition fees and school costs, or stipends in exchange for their participation in REACH’s Youth Pathways Course on a Sunday. In this course, youths are exposed to the outside world through educational excursions, and there is a strong focus on their interpersonal development through soft skills workshops, journaling and activities which promote leadership and confidence.

REACH Riders Club Program - The REACH Riders club is a recreational cycling club for students over the age of 12 years old to promote good physical and consequently, good mental health. This club hosts up to 36 youths, who take part in club rides in the beautiful surrounding countryside from Monday-Friday, with the opportunity to be selected to join the annual Side by Side event, cycling 200kms in 2 days for their community.

REACH Repair Shop Program -  The Repair Shop is a drop in service for members of the community to bring their broken bicycles to be fixed free of charge. It can host up to 4 vocational interns annually, who are underprivileged youths that are given the opportunity to learn a new, practical skills. The youths take part in internships in which they learn how to complete end-to-end refurbishments of pre-loved bikes before they are distributed to children in need by our partner organization.
