Brothers@ is an founded organization formally initiated in 2014 by Dariel Vasquez. As a student run organization, the focus of Brothers@ is to foster academic, personal achievement and excellence of men of color. Brothers@ is both an outreach TLS program focused on the mentorship and character development of young men of color from underserved backgrounds and communities, as well as an on-campus club devoted to spreading awareness on racial issues and positively impacting campus life for all Bard students. The brotherhood cultivates leadership in all its members while promoting the importance of community building through community service and involvement through mentoring. In essence, Brothers@ serves as an intimate safe space for men of color on campus that aims to spread positivity, while simultaneously rewriting the stigmatized narrative of the 'man of color' society holds through leadership and service.
