The mission of the Public Authority (PA) is to make the In-Home Supportive Services program work better for both consumers & homecare workers. The PA provides a registry referral service to consumers who are disabled or elderly needing a homecare assistant. The PA also provides consumer education, consumer outreach and emergency IHSS worker replacement services. In addition, the PA enrolls homecare workers in a medical, dental & vision benefits plan. We also offer transportation assistance through a quarterly lottery, where workers can win BART or AC Transit tickets & passes. Finally, we offer free workshops and classes that enhance worker skills & professionalism.
