Mission
Lincoln Extended Day is an inclusive and engaging after school environment where every child is seen, heard, and valued. The mission of our program is to create opportunities for children to explore their own interests, creativity and self-worth while developing the skills to build meaningful relationships with others.
Values
Intentional Inclusion
When we are active and intentional about ensuring that each child that enters our program is welcomed and embraced for who they are, it gives them the freedom and safety to explore interests, skills, and relationships.
Exploration
When young people have a safe and fun place to explore interests, skills, and relationships, they find inherent value in themselves and meaningful connections with others.
Collaboration
When young people feel connected to their peers, caretakers, and community, they can more easily identify others’ unique contributions and can work together towards shared goals.
Solidarity
Working together towards shared goals strengthens the bonds between people and fosters interconnectivity, allowing young people to more easily empathize with and advocate for others. Advocacy for all moves us towards equity.
Accountability
Being united and interconnected as a community makes it easier to take ownership of our actions and reflect on our decisions and behaviors. This practice allows young people to develop and maintain stronger relationships and be in caring community with one another.
Community Care
Building a strong, safe, and connected community through accountability to each other is the cornerstone of our program, and allows us to create an intentionally inclusive space for all.
