University of Minnesota Law School's Center for New Americans

  • Mission

Our mission is to expand urgently needed legal services for noncitizens, pursue litigation that will improve our nation's immigration laws, and educate noncitizens about their rights.

    About Us

The University of Minnesota Law School's Center for New Americans, the only program of its kind in the U.S., was designed in partnership with leading area law firms and non-profit immigration legal services.

Founded in 2013 with generous support from the Robina Foundation, the Center is home to three dynamic clinics and an integrated education and outreach program that offer students unparalleled, hands-on educational experiences.

Partners of the Center for New Americans include the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, The Advocates for Human Rights, and Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid, and the law firms of Faegre Baker Daniels; Robins Kaplan; and Dorsey & Whitney.
