About Us

Impact Elementary is a college preparatory public elementary school opening in the fall of 2011 in the Walnut Hills/Avondale neighborhood of Cincinnati. In our first year, we will serve K-2 students and will grow a grade each year until we reach K-8 in 2017. We will focus on setting high expectations for our students and on monitoring academic results. We will go above and beyond to prepare our students for college and life success through a highly effective staff, a world-class curriculum, and a values-based culture. At Impact, there are no shortcuts: outstanding educators, more time in school, a rigorous college-preparatory curriculum, and a strong culture of achievement and support help our students make significant academic gains and continue to excel in high school, college, and the world beyond. We are looking for highly dedicated educators who preferably have two years of teaching experience in urban settings and who undoubtedly have a “whatever it takes” attitude to help children succeed. Impact teachers are responsible for delivering effective, high-quality, rigorous instruction in all content areas that produces unmatched results and student understanding. Teachers will perform additional duties, and do whatever it takes for all Impact students to learn. Teaching hours at Impact Elementary: Weekday hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Impact Elementary students receive an intensive foundation in the core academic subjects with an emphasis on developing the knowledge and skills necessary for success in school and in life. The Impact Elementary community holds one another to high standards, cognizant that success and happiness can be achieved by all, regardless of challenging circumstances, through team work, tenacity and focused dedication. Almost one hundred percent of the student body is African American, and more than 80% qualify for the federal free or reduced-price lunch program.
