About the Knox County Museum of Education:
The Knox County Museum of Education preserves the educational history of Knox County Schools, with artifacts dating back to 1820. Located in the Sarah Simpson Professional Development and Technology Center, our collection includes yearbooks, photographs, textbooks, and school memorabilia.
Our Mission: We aim to engage, educate, and inspire by providing resources that document the educational heritage of Knoxville. We are committed to making our archives accessible to all, preserving the past for future generations.
Programs and Achievements: Our ongoing cataloging project digitizes our collection, making it easier for the public to explore. We have secured grants to support these efforts, enhance our exhibits, and expand community access. Volunteers are essential to our mission, helping with cataloging, exhibits, and educational programming. Join us and be part of preserving Knoxville’s educational legacy!
