    Only Make Believe is dedicated to the principle that freeing a child's imagination is a valuable part of the healing process. Our vision is to bring joy and inspiration to as many children with chronic illness and disabilities as possible, across the United States and around the world.

    About Us

    Only Make Believe is a non-profit organization that creates and performs interactive theatre for children in hospitals, care facilities, and schools with dedicated special education programs. We visit these sites with professional actors for three-week performance cycles. Our interactive program engages, inspires and empowers children living with chronic illness and disabilities through the collaborative process of theater.

    We started performing our interactive shows in one hospital in 1999, and now, thanks to your support we’re in more than 50 hospitals in New York City, Washington D.C., and beyond!
