  • About Us

The Instructional Development System (IDS) strategy is a comprehensive design for supporting teacher growth and student achievement. It couples a structured curriculum and assessment plan for each core course with intensive supports for teacher development. The design includes extensive professional development, facilitated teacher teamwork in each department, and classroom coaching at a 68 sections to 1 coach ratio. To support this strategy, CPS has invested heavily to provide all teachers participating in the instruction strategy with professional development and classroom coaches focused on altering teaching approaches to meet the specific needs of all their students.
