  • About Us

Founded in Boston, Massachusetts in 1992, the mission of UHRI is to promote human rights and democracy in Africa and refugee rights in the United States of America. UHRI accomplishes its mission through social change activism, direct action advocacy, community organizing and civic engagement. UHRI promotes a two-way refugee resettlement, which assists refugees in America to return to their war ravaged homelands when a safe environment exists in order to use their education and skills learned in America to build a peaceful and democratic country. In 2004, UHRI established YOUNG-Africa Inc, to promote self-reliance, entrepreneurship and literacy in post-conflict African countries.
