Danbury Youth Services, Inc. (DYS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit designated as the Youth Services Bureau for the City of Danbury. Our mission is to empower youth and families to build positive, fulfilling lives.
The focus is person-centered prevention and intervention, fostering healthy relationships, supporting emotional well-being, and strengthening connections within the community. Founded in 1969, DYS has committed over 55 years to serving youth and families in Greater Danbury.

Each year, our staff of licensed clinicians and specialists work with 300 at-risk youth and families offering the following services:
Mental Health: The Youth and Family Counseling program provides clinical care to youth ages 5-18, including therapy and medication management through our licensed psychiatric clinic.
Youth Employment: Youth gain valuable job experience and life skills through school-year and summer work placements that include career exploration and readiness training.
Restorative Justice: The Juvenile Review Board offers case management and skill-building to first-time youth offenders, helping them access resources and avoid deeper justice system involvement.
Youth Development: Programs give participants opportunities to learn leadership qualities, develop social skills and build confidence during after school hours.

Earn-A-Bike gives youth the opportunity to refurbish a bicycle of their own while developing social skills, leadership qualities and mechanical knowledge.
Girls As Leaders (GALs) offers a comfortable environment for young women to build their self-confidence while strengthening social and communication skills.
Teaching and Reaching Gaining Excellence Together (TARGET) provides a safe environment, instruction on healthy social skills, and homework assistance to elementary school students.
DYS is committed to accessible care and turns no one away due to inability to pay.
