    About Us

We are an independent, non-profit K-5 school located at the Historic Dunbar Pavilion near downtown Tucson.

IDEA School students are encouraged every day to practice curiosity, creativity, responsibility, self-advocacy, and social justice so that they graduate with resiliency, independence, and a passion for learning.

Our multi-discipline, expert educators lead students through daily explorations in topics related to social studies, science, math, language arts, Spanish, and music, while also encouraging and supporting independent learning and student-led projects.

We have a diverse student body from across Tucson, with half our students qualifying for Free or Reduced Lunch. We are committed to 100% inclusion and accessibility. We make it work financially for every family, regardless of income. To do this, we employ a Flex Tuition system: Flex Tuition.
