Reach Out and Read of NYULMC

  • About Us

Reach Out and Read is a unique literacy program that integrates parent education about literacy and language development into regular pediatric care.

When children between the ages of six months and five years come in for well-child visits, healthcare providers give them an age- and language-appropriate book to take home. Providers also give parents information on reading aloud with their children. Volunteers read to children in the waiting room to model reading techniques for parents.

Reach Out and Read gives parents the tools to help their children develop important pre-literacy skills that will prepare them to succeed in school.

We have locations in Sunset Park, Park Slope, and Flatbush.
