The Branch School

  • About Us

The Branch School’s mission is to inspire students to love, learn, and lead. The motto “Loving to learn, learning to lead, leading with love” characterizes the atmosphere on campus. Our academic curriculum is rigorous, demonstrated in our students’ achievement scores in the top quintile in the nation. Peacemaking and Social/Emotional Learning are taught throughout the school, where peaceful problem-solving and skillful collaboration are our norm. The Branch School has long valued diversity in many forms, and continues to enhance its practice of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion statement adopted in 2021 by our board. The Branch School also fosters a love of the environment through its innovative Outdoor Classroom program. Students up to fourth grade have weekly outdoor activities that include vegetable and native plant gardening, composting, birdwatching, nature observation, and more. Outdoor Classroom is a Middle School elective. Accordingly, our new campus plan includes LEED certification for our building and predominantly native plantings (outside of athletic fields) in landscaping, to encourage rebuilding native ecosystems. STEAM is an integral part of TBS’s philosophy and practice as our goal is for students to become lifelong learners who are not only curious about the world around them but want to be the innovators who have the confidence and creativity to address real-world issues.
