Lollipop Theater Network
LOLLIPOP was founded in 2001 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing the magic of movies to hospitalized children nationwide. We arrange group and bedside screenings of films in current theatrical release for children confined to hospitals due to chronic or life-threatening illnesses, which prevent them from visiting movie theaters. LOLLIPOP also complements its group and bedside screenings with special guest appearances from the film's stars, directors, animators or movie characters whenever possible to enhance the children's experiences.
Additional programming includes our Rhythm of Hope music sessions, artist days with our partners at Nickelodeon and DreamWorks Animation Studios and celebrity visit days.
Since its inception, LOLLIPOP has screened over 340 films and currently offers its program to 27 hospitals nationwide. LOLLIPOP is a unique organization that works in collaboration with leading motion picture studios including DreamWorks, Focus Features, Lionsgate, MGM, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Summit Entertainment, 20th Century Fox, Universal Studios and Warner Brothers. Our screenings enforce strict viewing guidelines, created in collaboration with participating studios, which address film security and other industry concerns. Every screening is supervised by a LOLLIPOP or studio representative.
Nothing beats being first in line for a new blockbuster film that everyone can't wait to see. Unfortunately, not every child is able to be there and be part of that excitement. At LOLLIPOP, we make it our job to help those children battling life threatening illnesses by creating a fun escape and offering their families a moment of normalcy in an otherwise stressful environment.
