Center for World Music

  • Mission

The Center for World Music is a nonprofit organization whose primary purpose is to foster awareness and understanding of the world's performing arts and cultural traditions through programs of performance and teaching, including workshops and cultural tours abroad.

    About Us

The Center for World Music has three basic programs: a concert series, a school program, and study abroad programs. The concert series offers around a dozen concerts a year presenting local and international performers. The school program reaches thousands of San Diego students with hands-on, in-depth instruction in the world's diverse performing arts traditions by native and native-trained master artist-teachers. The organization's study abroad programs offers participants the opportunity to travel to various countries around the world to study music and culture.
