Humboldt Secondary is currently recruiting AmeriCorps members, for the 2013-2014 school year, to provide academic and behavioral support in specifically in P.B.I.S. Humboldt is an environmentally themed public school located in an urban and diverse community. If you are interested in working with students, many of which are from low-income and non-traditional families, your service at Humboldt will prove to be invaluable.
What is PBIS? PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions & Support What will members be doing? members will assist in processing and supporting students having behavioral difficulties. Members will also assist in implementing interventions and collecting data on student behavior as well as serving as a mentor to these students and helping them make positive connections with you as you guide them to making positive choices. Members will also provide service learning opportunity to the students.
Professional Development and supervision will be provided to all members. Stipend & Health Benefits will be provided and managed by St. Paul Public Schools.
The school year runs from September 3rd through June 6th... Must be able to attend mandatory workshop on August 20th & 21st this summer.
