Bakusa is a Registered Community based non-government organization working at grass root levels for the achievement of sustainable development of the village poor and rural community in Eastern Uganda where the post war social problems are compounded by disastrous levels of poverty and HIV/AIDS

Mission:

To address the following Rural poverty levels in Eastern Uganda whose levels are as low as $50 a year income for a family and at the same time addressing the pressing issues of the HIV/AIDS and Gender balance; displaced children’s and mothers from the North Eastern Uganda due to the ongoing disarmament exercise in the area.

Vision and Objectives

To establish zero-grazing Agro forestry and other non-traditional profit farming projects To participate in vigorous Anti-AIDS campaigns through awareness education lectures and dance and drama and provision of free condoms to the village poor and youth. Addressing the difficulties of single mothers and women in need of justice through formation of women groups and visiting of women in prison. School fees sponsorship programs for the displaced children and soft loans for small business for the mothers for self sustainance.
