Community Impacts International C.I.C

Ashford, Kent, United Kingdom

  • Mission

To bridge the gap between global goals and local action by equipping young people in the UK and Nigeria with the leadership, digital, and green skills needed to thrive in a changing world

    About Us

Community Impacts International C.I.C. is a youth-led social enterprise based in Ashford, Kent. We are dedicated to bridging the gap between high-level policy and grassroots action, ensuring that young people are not just "inheriting" the future, but actively shaping it.

Founded in December 2025, we operate as a "North-South" strategic partnership, connecting youth in the United Kingdom with peers in Nigeria to solve shared challenges—from the digital skills gap to the climate crisis.

OUR STORY: A Tale of Two Nations

The world often treats issues like climate change, unemployment, and misinformation as separate problems for separate countries. We see them as one interconnected challenge.

Our organization was born from a simple realization: Young people in Ashford and young people in Lagos face different versions of the same future. Whether it is the need for Green Skills in a Net-Zero economy or AI Literacy in a digital workforce, the solutions are universal.

Building on over two years of grassroots success with our sister organization, YAGYDI (Young and Gifted Youths Development Initiative) in Nigeria, we established our UK headquarters to create a truly global exchange of ideas, skills, and opportunities.

    OUR MISSION

To empower the next generation of changemakers through a unique fusion of AI literacy, climate action, and community journalism, ensuring every young person has the tools to lead in the future economy.

    OUR 4-PILLAR APPROACH

We don't just "teach" the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); we use them as a framework for modern employability.

    1. 🎓 Leadership (The SDG Academy): Moving beyond theory, we train young people in project management, public speaking, and civic governance, certifying them as "SDG Young Ambassadors."
    2. 🤖 Future Skills (The AI Lab): We are democratizing access to Artificial Intelligence. From coding basics to prompt engineering, we ensure underrepresented youth are creators, not just consumers, of technology.
    3. 🎤 Media (Community Voices): Using Mobile Journalism (MoJo), we equip youth to fight misinformation and tell their own stories, shifting the narrative from "problems" to "solutions."
    4. 🌱 Climate (Green Livelihoods): We turn eco-anxiety into income. Our "Green Hustle" incubator trains youth in circular economy trades—from upcycling and repair to urban farming.

    OUR VALUES

    • Action Over Anxiety: We believe the best cure for eco-anxiety is work. We focus on tangible, practical solutions.
    • Local Roots, Global Reach: We are proud to be Ashford-based, but our classroom is the world.
    • Youth-Led: We believe young people are experts in their own lives. They don't just attend our programs; they co-design them.

    THE PARTNERSHIP: UK 🇬🇧 & NIGERIA 🇳🇬

We are unique in our operational model. Through our strategic alliance with YAGYDI, our volunteers in Kent collaborate directly with counterparts in Kwara State, Nigeria. This "North-South Bridge" allows for:

    • Cultural Exchange: Students working together on joint projects.
    • Knowledge Transfer: Sharing digital tools and sustainability techniques across continents.
    • Global Solidarity: Building a network of future leaders who understand that our borders may separate us, but our challenges unite us.
