Housing Opportunities and Maintenance for the Elderly (H.O.M.E.)
H.O.M.E. is a nonprofit organization committed to preserving the independence and dignity of low-income elderly in Chicago through a variety of housing and support services.
H.O.M.E. owns and manages buildings that are dedicated to the concept of intergenerational living: elderly residents and people of other ages live together in a way that supports the elderly person’s connection to the larger community.
Programs offered by H.O.M.E. include the only free citywide moving and furniture donation program, free shopping transportation services, volunteer services and upkeep and repair services for elderly homeowners in the city of Chicago.
