About Us

The nonprofit Peace & Justice Resource Center serves teachers, libraries, community and religious leaders, journalists and peace and justice groups. We are also leaders in the UN Decade for Peace, 2001-2010. The PJRC has five main service areas: 1. A Reference Library of 12,300 of the most inspiring and useful books as well as files, periodicals, videos, and data bases. 2) Resource Guides, Policy Analyses, Computer Activities, and Displays including our "Wall of Hope" exhibit of peace and justice movements and heroes throughout history that has been seen by over 100,000 youth and adults. Our many articles and annotated bibliographies help students, scholars, activists, and others. 3) Media, Workshops: Each year, PJRC volunteers present dozens of workshops, trainings, and media interviews on nonviolence, conflict transformation, racial and economic justice, and social change. 4) Assistance to Libraries and Resource Centers around the U.S. 5) A nonprofit Book Service which each year sells several thousand inspiring and useful books in all our issue areas at significantly reduced prices. Since it was founded in 1977, the Peace & Justice Resource Center has helped scores of libraries select and make available peace and justice materials. We have provided resources and training for hundreds of schools, colleges, and social change projects and groups.
