SKILLS CENTER INC

  • Mission

The Skills Center's mission is to intentionally utilize athletics as the mechanism to create change through academic support, life skills and mentoring for young people ages 3-18.

    About Us

The Founders believe sports offers young people the skills and knowledge they need to function effectively, therefore The Skills Center, Inc. was created in 2007 as a nonprofit sport based youth development organization and became a 501 (c) 3 in 2008. Using sports as a powerful learning tool, we teach youth how to transfer the skills learned naturally through sports to other areas in their lives such as school, home and community.

The Skills Center provides school based and community based programs that motivate youth to learn, change behavior and succeed in school. Focusing on developing core competencies through academic instruction and character education, our prevention services promote positive youth development to at risk and delinquent elementary, middle and high school students through school day and out of school time programs.
