The Olana Partnership

  • Mission

To inspire the public by preserving and interpreting Olana, Frederic Church's artistic masterpiece.

    About Us

The Olana Partnership is the non-profit support arm of Olana State Historic Site. Olana, located in Hudson, NY, is considered one of the most important artistic residences in the United States. It is the last and perhaps greatest masterpiece created by Hudson River School painter Frederic Edwin Church (1826-1900). Church designed and built his Persian style fantasy on the same hilltop where, as an eighteen-year-old student, he sketched spectacular views of the Catskills and the Hudson River alongside his mentor Thomas Cole.

Becoming a volunteer at Olana is a wonderful way to learn more about this unique and beautiful site, meet new people, and have a fun and rewarding experience.

We offer several opportunities and are always interested in speaking with prospective volunteers who have special skills or interests about other ways to contribute.

In appreciation for their contributions of time and energy, volunteers at Olana enjoy ongoing education and enrichment opportunities, trips to other museums and historic sites, and volunteer appreciation events throughout the year.
