  • Mission

Independent Schools Experiential Education Network (ISEEN) leads, informs, connects, expands, and stewards transformational experiential teaching and learning in K-12 schools throughout an interconnected world.

    About Us

Experiential education is a pedagogical process by which educators engage the whole student through a cycle of direct experience, reflection, analysis, and experimentation. Experiential education prioritizes people, identities, and the environment, addressing justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion. Fostering personal connection to deep and applied learning and inspiring growth in both the student and teacher, experiential education engages participants to be active global citizens working for a more just, equitable, and sustainable world where everyone belongs.

Values: As Experiential Educators, we believe that learning by doing is essential and requires:

    • Adaptability: Embracing the dynamic needs of students and educators in response to an evolving society.
    • Community: Engaging in the exchange of diverse ideas and practices to build a network of authentic, supportive, and socially just relationships.
    • Inclusivity: Creating an ethos of collaboration in which everyone is respected, valued, and represented as both a life-long learner and contributor.
    • Passion: Challenging the status quo and taking the initiative to pursue bold ideas with heart, compassion, and intention.

ISEEN aims for inclusivity in all aspects of our programming -- offerings include three Annual Institutes as well as Custom Training and Consulting, Regional Expeditions, and a myriad of online programs.
