Big Picture was established in Australia in 2006 as a non-profit organization whose core business is transforming high school education in Australia within a rapidly changing world. Big Picture is constantly implementing new ways of structuring learning and assessing students in order to prepare students exceedingly well for their futures. Through a selective process and interviews, students who come to Big Picture complete semester-long personalized research projects and present them to an exhibition panel after approximately 2 months of research. A large majority of Big Picture research projects are original research and extremely valuable work. Big Picture focuses on individuals, not on the student body as a whole, nurturing individual talents and skills. Big Picture students are required to go out on mandatory internships for real life work experience, networking, and connections. Some internships have included hours of travel to large scientific organizations, volunteer work, language tutoring, law firms, and countless others.
Big Picture works with different schools across Australia to implement our innovative design for learning into a range of areas around Australia. We currently have 46 schools around Australia in total.
