About Us

Project Olas offers immersive Spanish learning online taught by moms in vulnerable Central American communities. We launched as soon as COVID-19 hit Guatemala (in March of this year), and are now the only thing standing in the way of moms having to return to the Guatemala City Garbage Dump where they scavenge through trash to provide for their families.

In the wake of COVID-19, Olas not only allows a mom to earn in one hour what she would normally make in an entire day—on a good day—but we also offer a work from home option for families that would not otherwise have this option.

Our students become fluent in Spanish by speaking with one of our caring moms, together we move one step closer to eradicating poverty. Lessons start at just $13 / hr.

We are run by team of 17 Georgetown undergrads.
