Volunteer Description:
We are looking for a creative and reliable Social Media Representative to support our digital marketing efforts and help tell the story of Hope for Harvest across platforms. This role will focus on content creation, event coverage, and consistent posting on our social media platforms to engage our community and raise awareness about our programs and impact.
The ideal candidate is passionate about youth empowerment, social media trends, and authentic storytelling, and is excited to be part of a mission-driven team.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend scheduled Hope for Harvest events to capture photos and video content
- Create and post engaging content across our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn platforms
- Help plan and maintain a social media calendar for upcoming events, initiatives, and impact stories
- Work closely with program staff to share real-time updates and community highlights
- Monitor engagement, respond to messages/comments as needed, and help build our online presence
- Support campaign ideas, hashtag strategies, and brand voice consistency
- Organize and archive digital content for future use and reference
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Volunteer Requirements-Social Media Representative
- Currently pursuing or holds a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field (all majors welcome with relevant experience or interest)
- Experience managing or contributing to social media platforms for a brand, student organization, or personal portfolio
- Strong writing skills and an understanding of visual storytelling and audience engagement
- Comfortable attending events, taking high-quality photos and videos, and interacting with program participants
- Familiarity with Canva, Instagram Reels, TikTok-style editing, or other content tools is a plus
- Passion for community work, youth empowerment, and nonprofit impact storytelling
Work Environment
- Position Dates: N/A
- Schedule: 10–15 hours per week, including attendance at scheduled Hope for Harvest events (typically evenings or weekends). *Some remote hours will be spent editing content, planning posts, and managing accounts. Upon hire, a full schedule will be set.
- Flexibility to adapt to program/event schedules
- Must be able to work in active, in-person settings with children and families (indoor/outdoor events)
- Responsibilities may involve standing, walking, taking photos/video, and carrying light equipment (ex: camera, tripod)
