We are looking for Grocery Pick-up volunteers to pick up donated bread, pastries, fresh produce and home goods from local grocery stores and farmer’s markets. This is a great opportunity for volunteers that like to work earlier in the day and are able to do some heavy lifting. The grocery pick-up process is critical in providing clients with a bountiful selection of food and goods to choose from. Local grocery stores i.e. Whole Foods, Sprouts, Nob Hill, Trader Joe's, and Safeway are our partner stores.
Details:
- Must be at least 21 years of age to drive a WVCS vehicle
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and a clean Driver's record
- Able to lift 40lbs
- Acquire donated items from partner stores and return the goods to the WVCS food pantry
- Shifts begin approximately at 8am and last for 1-1.5 hours
- Enthusiasm for and interest in promoting the WVCS’ mission
Volunteer drivers are asked to volunteer once per week, for at least 8 consecutive weeks.

The mission of WVCS is to encourage the sharing of community resources, to provide basic human needs in a caring and dignified environment, and to provide opportunities for volunteers to participate in WVCS' activities.
