Roadies & Rescues needs a volunteer that can edit raw video footage for our dashcam interviews with professional "roadies" from the concert industry to be posted on our Youtube channel. Ideally, we will shoot at least one of these interviews per month in 2026. these are long format interviews that will typically be 90+ minutes, even after trimming out the superfluous or off-topic talking.
We have a setup comprised of two flip-cams mounted on the dashboard of our animal rescue transport van, one for the driver (the host/interviewer) and the other for the passenger (the guest/interview subject), with each wearing a wireless lavalier mic that is recorded on its own track in a Tascam DR-70-D multitrack recorder. There's also another flip-cam for B-roll footage of volunteers loading the animals into their transport crates and footage of animals when they are unloaded in various cities along our route.
The roadie interview segments are shot throughout the day while traveling between stops for fuel and/or unloading of the animals. A preliminary edit would be needed to splice together the various segments/takes, cutting back and forth between camera views based on the person talking. This could be done very easily for any editor that has the pro version of DaVinci Resolve with it's new AI tools. Then after we review the main edit we would need to decide if anything needs to be removed for privacy or legal reasons (sometimes the very casual conversations might include names or information that should be left out). Once we know what content should remain then we could discuss inserting any b-roll footage, still photos, names or captions, etc.
As an IRS recognized 501(c)3 we can offer a tax deductible "In-kind donation" IRS letter (at realistic fair market value) for any professional donating their services and skills to this project. At the moment, the Roadies and Rescues transportation program is largely a one person effort (me, the founder) and I do these life-saving trips for shelter animals in my "spare time" away from my career as an audio engineer for concerts and live events. Between my career and all of the volunteer work I do, I'm typically logging 80 hours per week. I simply do not have the time, desire, nor extra money to also learn video editing nor invest in the computers, graphics cards, or other hardware necessary. I need the help of a pro that already has the skills and tools.
