    Description

Georgia - Event Administrative Support / Event Coordinators - Hybrid

The National STEM Society is seeking part-time administrative support or event coordinators for event management, kickoff activities, and on-site support.

Ages 16 and up can apply. Send your resume to Annabella at info@nationalstemsociety.org and leave a comment on Volunteer Match regarding your specific experience, achievements, or volunteer time related to this volunteer opportunity. If you are a high school or college student, please state that in the comments and the School, University, Field of Study (i.e. Computer Science), and Grade you are presently in at school.

    Responsibilities

This is an events administrative support position to support operational tasks, virtual events/meetings, and onsite event coordination activities.

    • Tentative Adhoc Administrative Task online via Microsoft 365 tools or Volunteer Match/Idealist
    • School & Student Registrations
    • Attend weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly meetings

    Event management/coordination:

    • Event Check-in & Instructions Guide
    • Welcome package creation, maintenance, and distribution at all events
    • Computer/iPad monitoring at event sites
    • Volunteer Snack Bar Attendants
    • Customer Service
    • Cash or Credit Card machine management
    • Social Media management
    • Capture photos or mini-video clips (equipment provided when needed)

A background screening is required for all volunteers. We value the volunteers, students, parents, schools, and communities we serve. During the selection process, all confirmed volunteers must complete a child sexual abuse awareness training, reference checks (for specific volunteer roles), and a background check for on-site, in-person events and program volunteer opportunities.

Through our partnership with NCSI, the National Center for Safety Initiatives will perform each comprehensive background check (a nationwide county criminal search, federal, and two sex offender registry searches) for $35. We ask all volunteers, staff members, and partners over the age of 16 to contribute a $20 donation toward their background check at https://nationalstemsociety.org/how-do-i-donate/.

From the website, enter a custom amount and click donate. The National STEM Society will cover the remaining cost of $15 through sponsorship funding.

Submitting a volunteer application or inquiry does not guarantee placement as a volunteer. Candidates will be accepted based on the event or program needs matched with the candidates’ qualifications to meet those requirements, as determined during the selection process. Incomplete volunteer applications will not be considered for review. If a suitable volunteer opportunity is available when your application is submitted, you will be contacted by the Volunteer Coordinator or other staff members.

NOTE: A volunteer interview/orientation, annual background check, and reference check (references are only requested for specific volunteer roles) will be required before any candidate can begin an assignment. All applications will be kept on file for one year.
