    Description

🌟 AFK CAFE— MODERATOR / COMMUNITY STEWARD (VOLUNTEER)

A cozy, inclusive space for introverts, creatives, neurodivergent folks, and anyone seeking gentle connection.

    📍 ABOUT AFK CAFE

AFK Cafe is a cozy, sensory-friendly community where people can exhale, participate at their own pace, and form meaningful connections. We host watch parties, game nights, seasonal events, creative prompts, and small-group conversations in a low-pressure environment.

Our moderation team protects the vibe of the space, supports community safety, and helps the Café grow into a true home for everyone who joins.

    💼 ABOUT THE ROLE

All volunteers begin in 🌱 Brew Crew, our training and onboarding stage. During this period, you’ll shadow current moderators, learn our systems, understand our culture, and gradually find which track best suits you.

Moderators at AFK Café are community stewards—present, consistent, warm, and collaborative. This isn’t a job where you enforce rules from the sidelines. It’s about showing up, connecting, and co-creating a soft space where people can belong.

Unified values line (your three ideas combined):

We’re building a team made of people who want connection as much as contribution—people who find meaning in belonging to a community while helping shape it, and who want to build something together while also being held by it.

🧠 WHO THRIVES IN THIS ROLE

This opportunity is ideal for someone who:

    • Enjoys connecting with others in soft, low-pressure ways
    • Values both community and structure
    • Likes maintaining emotional safety and clarity
    • Wants to be part of creating and growing something—not just leading it
    • Is reliable, communicative, and steady
    • Appreciates cozy, story-rich, aesthetic spaces
    • Wants to help with events, engagement, creativity, or systems
    • Finds fulfillment in helping others feel welcome and grounded
    • Desires a team that supports each other so no one burns out

☕ WHY WE NEED A LARGER TEAM

AFK Café is designed around the principle that people can go AFK—rest, live their lives, and return without guilt.

    Because of that:

    • No one should feel overburdened.
    • Everyone should have backup.
    • Consistency matters, but so does rest.
    • Communication keeps the team supported and aligned.

This server thrives when multiple hands share the work, each bringing their own strengths, presence, and creativity.
