Rescue Volunteer Description
Our horse rescue volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Volunteers help provide daily care, love, and stability for the horses in our program, many of whom are recovering from neglect, abandonment, medical issues, or trauma. This role involves hands-on barn work such as feeding, watering, cleaning stalls and paddocks, grooming, organizing supplies, and helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment for both horses and visitors. Volunteers may also assist with medical care support under guidance, exercise or hand-walking when appropriate, event support, fundraising help, and general barn upkeep.
A great volunteer is compassionate, reliable, patient, willing to learn, and comfortable working around horses of different sizes, temperaments, and backgrounds. No experience is required—just a kind heart, a good work ethic, and willingness to follow instructions. Training is provided, and we work hard to match tasks to each volunteer’s comfort level.
By volunteering, you’ll not only help with the physical care of the horses—you’ll also play a part in giving them safety, dignity, and a second chance at life. It’s meaningful work, a little messy sometimes, but always incredibly rewarding. If you love horses and want to make a real difference, this is the place to do it ❤️
