    Description

Ascension Saint Agnes Senior Volunteers Needed

The Ascension Saint Agnes Chaperone Program serves older adults and adults with disabilities by ensuring they have safe, reliable, and free transportation to and from their outpatient medical appointments. We provide support through Lyft rides, a shuttle service, and, when needed, an in-person volunteer chaperone to accompany patients during their appointments.

We are actively seeking senior volunteers (age 55+) to join our program and make a direct impact in the lives of our patients!! Senior volunteers bring invaluable lived experience, empathy, and relatability that resonate strongly with those we serve, helping older adults feel more comfortable and supported as they navigate their healthcare journey.

Volunteer duties include accompanying patients to their medical visits, riding with them in Lyft or shuttle vehicles when extra support is needed, offering companionship and reassurance to reduce anxiety, and assisting with check-ins, navigation, and next steps in their care. In addition to the meaningful impact on patients’ lives, volunteers receive incentives such as gift cards, recognition events, and opportunities for social connection. By becoming a Chaperone Volunteer, you will not only provide a vital service to patients who may otherwise struggle to access care, but you will also join a community of peers dedicated to promoting dignity, independence, and compassion.
