    In cooperation with NYC Service’s Civic Corps Program, The Actors Theatre Workshop is seeking two dedicated members to join our team for a 10-month commitment from October 2025 to July 2026. Ideal for recent graduates, entry-level professionals, career-switchers looking to start in the public and non-profit sector, or retirees looking to use their professional skills in service of a good cause.

    The Actors Theatre Workshop aims to educate and support the development of diverse populations through the art of theatre and drama. Our programs serve homeless and at-risk youth, aspiring theatre artists, and adults from corporate executives to curious actors. As a NYC Civic Corps Member, the chosen candidate will assist in either Community Outreach and Engagement OR Volunteer Management and Recruitment in our Manhattan offices and theatre space.

    Activities and Responsibilities for each role:

    • Community Outreach and Engagement:
      • Research and maintain a contact list of youth-focused/adult professional institutions and community events
      • Conduct outreach campaigns through email, calls, and in-person visits
      • Create and hold presentations/meetings with prospective community partners
      • Organize community info sessions to introduce programming
      • Represent ATW at civic and community events
    • Volunteer Management and Recruitment:
      • Assist in revamping, researching, and developing volunteer program strategies
      • Develop an action plan to increase volunteer recruitment
      • Research ways to streamline existing application and onboarding process, including scheduling, interviews, data collection, and application tracking
      • Develop Volunteer training videos and documents with the HR department

    Schedule:

    • Commitment of 35 hours per week
    • Four weekdays per week, 8 hours between 10am-10pm. General weekday schedule is 10 am-6pm
    • MUST be available for 2-3 evenings per week for events and programs.
    • Saturdays will be a mandatory service day from 11:30am-7:30pm.
    • Sunday and one changing weekday off per week.

    Pay: $24,500 distributed bi-weekly

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Basic proficiency in Google Workspace applications (Google Docs, Sheets)
    • Interest in community outreach and engagement and/or volunteer management and recruitment
    • Detail-oriented and highly organized
    • Must be able to work on Saturdays with Sundays and a flexible weekday off
