    Description

Volunteer SAT Instructors for Top High School Students from Low Income Families

Guide students through a structured weekly Kaplan curriculum that helps elevate their PSAT and SAT/ACT scores by teaching core concepts and standardized test tricks/tips and administering practice exams.

We will be serving students for the 2025-2026 school year in person but will prioritize student and volunteer safety and comfort.

Time Commitment: 2 hours per week from September through May, including approximately three Saturday sessions per month from 10:00am-12:00pm.

More detail: Test prep instructors are trained to guide students through a structured weekly Kaplan curriculum that helps elevate their SAT/ACT scores. Test Prep Program sessions take place approximately three Saturdays per month for two hours (10:00am-12:00pm) from September through May. Test prep instructors administer a diagnostic exam, split the students up into two or three groups based on ability, teach core concepts and standardized test tricks/tips to the students, and administer several additional practice exams throughout the "semester." Test prep instructors play a crucial role in fundraising. Test prep instructors help to recruit subsequent generations of Minds Matter volunteers and leaders.
