StandUp for Kids Tucson is looking for mentors to support underserved and at-risk youth in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Establishing relationships with young people through one-on-one mentoring in our outreach center and local schools
Providing guidance and support to help young people develop life skills such as communication, problem-solving, and decision-making
Assisting with academic achievement and setting academic goals
Encouraging and promoting positive behavior and attitudes among young people
Working with families, schools, and other community organizations to support at-risk youth
Requirements:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to build rapport and establish relationships with young people
A passion for helping underserved and at-risk youth in the Tucson community
Must be at least 24 years of age and be able to commit 2 hours every other week
Nice-to-haves:
Experience working with young people in a mentoring or counseling role
Understanding of adolescent development and challenges facing young people today
Training in social work, psychology, education or related field
