We are actively seeking enthusiastic volunteers eager to make a difference in the lives of homebound seniors in our community by delivering groceries, protein, bread and paper products to them on the 1st and/or 3rd Saturday of each month. Choose either the 1st and/or 3rd Saturday or both, depending on what suits your schedule best! The routes are designed to take a maximum of 2 and a half hours.
Oftentimes, our compassionate volunteer drivers serve as the sole friendly face these seniors encounter throughout the month, making your participation immensely impactful.
To make these deliveries even more special, we wholeheartedly welcome and encourage you to bring along your children, family members, and friends, transforming it into a meaningful bonding experience for all involved.
HOW IT WORKS:
Volunteers are asked to arrive at our Gowan and N5th location, where they will receive their designated delivery routes. Helping Hands staff and volunteers will then load the volunteers' vehicles with the necessary delivery items.
Each month, drivers will provide essential support to our homebound seniors by delivering two grocery totes containing canned goods, fresh produce, protein, bread, and paper goods.
HHOVV's pantry manager thoughtfully designs the routes with volunteers in mind! She ensures that the delivery stops conveniently align with your route home from our location!
Drivers must be 18 years of age, but passengers of all ages are welcome to help.
