Website Maintenance Volunteer (WordPress + Divi)

Organization: Global Initiative to Advance Entrepreneurship (GIAE)

Projects: Bangkok Cat Society & Veterans Pet Lifeline

Location: Remote (volunteer can be based anywhere)

    About Us

Global Initiative to Advance Entrepreneurship (GIAE) is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports social-impact projects around the world. We are currently seeking a volunteer with WordPress and Divi experience to help maintain and improve two active project websites:

Bangkok Cat Society (BCS): A community cat welfare initiative based in Bangkok, Thailand, focusing on sterilization, rescue, and education.

Veterans Pet Lifeline (VPL): A U.S.-based program helping veterans strengthen wellbeing and community through companion animals and peer support.

Both projects are part of GIAE’s mission to advance wellbeing and community development through innovative, evidence-based initiatives.

    Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Website Maintenance Volunteer to assist with ongoing updates, troubleshooting, and improvements across both project sites. The ideal candidate has experience with WordPress (Divi theme), a solid grasp of front-end best practices, and a good design eye to ensure everything looks and functions smoothly on desktop and mobile.

    Responsibilities

    • Update and edit website content (text, photos, pages, blog posts)
    • Maintain mobile responsiveness and browser compatibility
    • Apply minor CSS adjustments and basic coding fixes as needed
    • Check and fix broken links or formatting issues
    • Assist with SEO optimization (metadata, keywords, load speed, alt text)
    • Help improve site structure, readability, and visual consistency
    • Support troubleshooting plugin or theme issues as they arise

    Qualifications

    • Working knowledge of WordPress and Divi Builder
    • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design
    • Experience with SEO tools or best practices
    • Familiarity with integrating third-party tools (contact forms, social media embeds, etc.)
    • Ability to work independently, manage small tasks, and communicate clearly
    • A passion for making a difference through animal welfare or veteran wellbeing is a plus

    Time Commitment

Flexible—approximately 3–5 hours per week, depending on task load. Work is fully remote and can be done on your own schedule.

    Benefits

    • Gain experience supporting two meaningful, active nonprofit programs
    • Receive credit and references for your portfolio
    • Contribute to projects that improve both animal and human lives
