Book lovers around the world enjoy searching for Little Free Libraries using our app. We need your help to increase the accuracy of our map of book-sharing boxes!
It’s very flexible: search for libraries whenever it fits in your schedule. For your convenience, you will identify the areas around Indianapolis, Carmel, or Anderson that are easiest for you to visit. This is a solo/independent volunteer activity (unless you recruit friends and family to come with you!). It's a great option for a self-motivated volunteer.
Purpose: By increasing the accuracy of Little Free Library locations on our free world map, you are helping us to build community, inspire readers, and expand book access.
Responsibilities:
Training & Resources Available: We will help you get to know our organization and share best practices for visiting Little Free Libraries through our self-paced online training. We’ll also mail you printed invitations & envelopes that you can share with unregistered book-sharing boxes.
Volunteer Perks: You’ll get a free Little Free Library t-shirt after you record your first impact here on the Team LFL hub! If you need hours verified for a service-learning or workplace volunteer program, Little Free Library can provide verification.
Supervision & Support: Little Free Library’s Community Engagement Manager can answer questions.
Volunteers will go to multiple Little Free Library locations. Volunteers choose their own search area around greater Indianapolis, Carmel, or Anderson.
You can get started in 2 steps: register on our website and then complete a self-paced online training. We will show you how easy it is to use our free app to find mapped Little Free Libraries and report any that are missing. If it's your first time signing up with Team LFL, you will need to create an account in our online volunteer hub.
