Description
Position Summary
The Director of Speakers Bureau is a key volunteer role responsible for identifying, recruiting, and coordinating expert speakers for AUSCF programs. This includes panels, webinars, interviews, virtual training sessions, and in-person events. The director will build and maintain a diverse roster of qualified speakers while ensuring smooth and professional engagement throughout the speaker experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and recruit subject-matter experts across cybersecurity, technology, policy, education, and related fields.
- Maintain a database or roster of speakers, including bios, areas of expertise, and availability.
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, briefing materials, and communication with all guest speakers.
- Collaborate with program leads to understand speaker needs for upcoming panels, webinars, interviews, and events.
- Prepare speakers for participation by sharing guidelines, event formats, and expectations.
- Work with the communications and social media teams to promote upcoming speaker events.
- Ensure high-quality, professional execution of speaker engagements and provide post-event follow-up.
- Build long-term relationships with returning speakers and potential new experts.
- Oversee volunteers helping with speaker research, outreach, or logistics.
Qualifications
- Experience in event coordination, speaker management, talent coordination, or related areas (volunteer or professional).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage confidently with subject-matter experts and industry leaders.
- Detail-oriented with strong scheduling and logistics management abilities.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative, remote environment.
- Interest in cybersecurity, education, or public engagement is beneficial.
