    Description

Are you looking to help your neighbors in need?

The Day Center provides basic needs and social services to adults experiencing homelessness or who are at-risk of homelessness. Amenities include a safe place to rest during the day, restrooms, laundry, storage, showers, computer lab, phones, fax and mailing addresses. Case management services are also onsite. The main focus of the Day Center is to motivate clients into the Coordinated Entry System while offering basic human dignity services. The Program utilizes a harm reduction model which does not require sobriety, however, neither alcohol or drugs can be used or possessed onsite.

The Day Center volunteer will be responsible for greeting all visitors respectfully and responding to visitor inquiries with the help and support of Information & Referral staff. They will answer phone calls, transfer callers to appropriate departments, and provide information on program services as necessary. General clerical duties (making copies, processing mail...) may also be required depending on the volunteer shift preferred.
