We empower children affected by cancer to explore their artistic passions through art, music, writing, acting, and other creative outlets. Artistic expression plays a vital role in healing, resilience, and emotional well-being, and our mission is to make these opportunities accessible to every child we serve.

This role oversees fundraising volunteers, supports donor engagement, and helps grow sustainable revenue streams through online campaigns, partnerships, and creative fundraising strategies.

    • Research, write, and support grant proposals and funding opportunities
    • Prospect and engage individual, corporate, and major donors
    • Identify and cultivate potential sponsors and business partnerships
    • Develop and contribute to A Free Bird’s annual and quarterly fundraising plans
    • Increase donor engagement through consistent digital communication and storytelling
    • Track campaign performance and submit quarterly fundraising reports
    • Lead and participate in mandatory weekly meetings with the Fundraising Director and team

    Skills & Qualifications

    • 2+ years of experience in fundraising, development, nonprofit management, or a related field
    • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Administration, Fundraising, or a related discipline preferred
    • Experience supervising, mentoring, or coordinating volunteers or teams
    • Strong understanding of nonprofit fundraising strategies and donor engagement
    • Proven ability to plan, execute, and evaluate results-driven fundraising initiatives
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Experience with digital fundraising platforms and CRMs (Salesforce NPSP preferred)
    • Grant writing, event planning, or donor management experience strongly preferred
    • Bonus: Micro-influencer background, fundraising portfolio, or strong social media network

    • Work collaboratively in a flexible, fully remote environment
    • Make a direct impact supporting children and families affected by cancer
