    Help Homeless Pet Owners in SF! Veterinarians, RVTs, Veterinary Assistants needed

    VET SOS

    Vet SOS is looking for veterinarians, experienced veterinary assistants, and veterinary technicians to join our team of volunteers.

    WHO WE ARE

    Vet SOS provides free veterinary care to the companion animals of unhoused San Franciscans and links their human guardians with health care services. Operating since 2001, Vet SOS is a project of SFCCC's Street Outreach Services (SOS) program.

    WHAT WE DO

    Vet SOS provides twice monthly pop-up veterinary clinics in San Francisco with the help of our veterinary volunteers.

    OUR GOALS

    • Improve the health of companion animals of unhoused San Franciscans
    • Decrease the spread of infectious disease
    • Reduce pet overpopulation
    • Foster the human-animal bond
    • Provide health information and referrals to unhoused San Franciscans
    • Champion the welfare of unhoused pet guardians and their companion animals

    OUR SERVICES

    • On-site veterinary wellness exams including vaccinations, routine procedures, and laboratory testing
    • Rabies certificates
    • Microchip implantation and registration
    • Distribution of animal food, leashes, collars, and other pet supplies
    • Referral and transportation to free spay/neuter surgery and other veterinary care
    • Linkage to human health services

    OUR SUCCESSES

    Each year over 500 companion animals of unhoused San Franciscans receive free veterinary care from us.
