    Description

Help Build a Permanent Mosque for an Elderly Community Leader in Mbale, Uganda

In the hills of Mbale, Uganda, Mr. Ayubu, a revered elder in his 80s, has selflessly maintained a small mud mosque for decades. Despite having no electricity, clean water, or proper sanitation, he continues to serve the local community with unwavering devotion.

The mosque is unfit for safe use, especially during the rainy seasons that plague the region with flooding and cold. The structure is crumbling. The toilet is unsanitary. There is no light, and no clean water for ablution.

Ayubu’s dream is to build a permanent concrete mosque a safe, warm, and dignified space for prayer and community connection.

We're seeking dedicated volunteers on Idealist to help turn this vision into reality. Whether you're on the ground or thousands of miles away, your unique skills and time can make a meaningful impact.
