    About Us:

    The Donovan’s Venom is a 501c3 nonprofit organization focused on curating universal accessibility to fine arts and music education for all. We are passionately dedicated to ensuring that everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, has access to high-quality music education, performance opportunities, and fine art. We aim to inspire, empower, and uplift communities by fostering a love for music and the arts through our commitment to education, inclusivity, diversity, and social impact, which drives us to expand our reach continually and enrich the lives of those we serve.

    We’re looking for a Chief of People to join our growing team!

    What you’ll do:

    People & Culture Strategy

    • Define and execute a comprehensive people strategy aligned with the organization’s mission, values, and long-term goals
    • Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive team on leadership effectiveness, and workforce planning

    Talent & Workforce Development

    • Lead end-to-end talent strategy including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention
    • Develop innovative, mission-aligned recruitment strategies to attract diverse, values-driven talent

    Volunteer Experience & Engagement

    • Act as a trusted advocate for volunteers, fostering open communication
    • Drive initiatives to improve engagement, and well-being

    People Operations & Governance

    • Establish HR policies, systems, and processes suited to a growing nonprofit and remote workforce
    • Develop and monitor people metrics and analytics, including engagement, retention, and organizational effectiveness

    Leadership & Collaboration

    • Partner closely with other Chiefs and functional leaders to ensure people strategy supports program, creative, and operational goals
    • Mentor and guide HR and people operations team members

    What we’re looking for:

    • 5+ years experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably in the nonprofit sector
    • Knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulatory compliance
    • Possession of excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees, managers, and stakeholders
    • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred
    • HR related Certification
