Marketing Graphic Designer [Social Media, Blog, Website, and More]

If you’re a skilled graphic designer who is passionate about eradicating education inequality, keep reading! Oppia is looking for a fast-paced designer for our Marketing & Outreach team who is willing to help us create graphics and assets that help spread our awareness and impact.

    Who We Are

The Oppia Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the mission to provide high quality education to all. We do this through the creation and maintenance of our platform, Oppia, the coordination of our passionate contributors, and the development of critical partnerships with NGOs in the communities we aim to serve.

    Where You Fit In

Millions of children are not receiving the education they deserve. Of the 61 million children worldwide who cannot attend primary school, 17 million will never step foot into a school if trends continue. With the presence of COVID-19 today, millions more children are also seeing interruptions in their daily lives, stability, and education - making it even more difficult than before for many students to get the education they need to succeed.

Thus far, we’ve worked hard to prove the validity of Oppia and the effectiveness of the lessons we create, through the completion of our first randomized controlled trial and the development of our large-scale open-source volunteering community. Now, we are building a Growth team to focus on scaling our impact and outreach around the world.

We are looking for a graphic or visual designer who can help us build out appealing brand and marketing assets that tell our story. These assets and designs will then be used and shared across our social media, blog, newsletter, and more to help expand our brand awareness and impact. We welcome those who are willing to learn and grow through this opportunity, although we want to focus most of all on a fast-paced, iterative approach to design and experimentation.

Why Oppia is an Organization You Want to Work With

    • Oppia has served over 1,100,000 users.
    • Oppia’s current library consists of more than 20,000 lessons.
    • Oppia focuses on effectiveness. Our continuous improvement process involves rigorous user testing and RCTs to ensure we create high quality educational materials catered to the needs of our most underserved global learners.
    • Oppia consists of passionate volunteers from across the globe, so our meetings are held online at flexible times.

What Our Marketing Graphic Designers Contribute

Work with diverse volunteers from across the globe to deliver designs and assets to help expand our reach. This includes:

    • Rapidly create designs and drafts as needs arise within the Marketing team that can then be shared in our social media, website, blog, and more
    • Contribute to the development of our growth and outreach strategies
    • Schedule regular status calls with our volunteers to ensure milestones are met and roadblocks are removed
    • Communicate effectively with our global, volunteer-run team
