      • Collaborate with designers, programmers, and artists to ensure visual systems support gameplay, narrative, and accessibility goals.
      • Integrate and iterate on visual effects based on team feedback and playtesting results.
      • Maintain organized workflows, documentation, and asset management for visual systems.
      • Troubleshoot technical challenges related to rendering, shaders, or performance issues.
      • Requires 15-20 hours/week.

    Qualifications

      • Experience with Unity (Built-In Render Pipeline), C#, and Shader Graph.
      • Strong understanding of VFX principles, shader creation, and environmental/lighting effects.
      • Ability to optimize visual assets for performance while maintaining quality.
      • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
      • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work in a remote, volunteer-based team.
      • Passion for mission-driven or educational game development is a plus.

    What You’ll Gain

      • Hands-on experience implementing shaders, VFX, and environmental systems in Unity.
      • Opportunities to expand your portfolio with technical and artistic game work.
      • Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of designers, developers, and artists.
      • Growth in real-time rendering, shader programming, and performance optimization.
      • A chance to contribute creatively to a project that benefits players and communities.
