    Description

    Google Ads Grant Tracking Specialist

    About Us

Educate. Radiate. Elevate. supports under-resourced students in grades 6–12 across Illinois and Texas through free online tutoring.

We use a Google Ads Grant to reach more students and families — but to grow our impact, we need to improve how we track and measure results.

    This Volunteer Role

We’re seeking a volunteer Google Ads Grant Tracking Specialist to set up, test, and optimize our digital tracking systems.

You’ll ensure every click, form submission, and donation is measured accurately through Google Ads, Google Tag Manager (GTM), and UTM parameters.

    Why Join Us

    • Make an impact: Your work will directly help students and families discover free tutoring opportunities.
    • Sharpen your skills: Gain hands-on experience managing a real Google Ad Grants account.
    • Collaborate with purpose: Join a small, supportive nonprofit marketing team making a measurable difference.

    What You’ll Do

    • Implement and validate Google Ads conversion tracking (donations, sign-ups, contact forms)
    • Deploy and manage tags in Google Tag Manager
    • Apply UTM best practices for campaign attribution
    • Troubleshoot and correct tracking issues
    • Provide simple performance reports to guide optimization

    Commitment & Logistics

    • Time: 3–6 hours per week (flexible schedule)
    • Duration: Minimum 6-month commitment
    • Location: 100% remote (work from anywhere)
    • Compensation: Volunteer position (unpaid)

    Instructions:

Thank you for your application for the Google Ads Grant Tracking Specialist position with Educate. Radiate. Elevate.

NOTE - We are UNable to provide sponsorship or supporting documentation for F-1 / OPT visa applicants.

Please send your responses to the following in the text of your email:

    1) Do you understand this is an unpaid volunteer position?

    2) Work authorization (please answer each one by one):

a - Are you currently legally authorized to volunteer in the United States?

b - Is your involvement in this position part of a visa requirement? Please note that we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.

c - Are we required to complete any paperwork for you regarding this position? If so, describe in detail with links, etc.

d - If you get hired for a full-time job, will you still be able to complete your volunteer commitment with E.R.E.?

    3) Your commitment:

    When can you start (date)?

What is the minimum number of hours per week and months/years you could commit to?

Can you commit to providing at least one month’s notice if planning to leave this assignment and assist with recruiting a replacement?

    4) Please send your resume and/or LinkedIn URL.

    5) Please provide 2 professional references who can attest to your Google Ads skills and whom I can contact. Send their full names, email addresses, and phone numbers.

    6) Please send your relevant certifications from Google or other online advertising/analytics platforms.

    7) Which of the following have you done? (Select all that apply)

    • Google Ads conversion tracking
    • Google Tag Manager setup
    • Google Ad Grants management
    • Google Analytics 4 tracking
    • UTM tagging and reporting

    8) Imagine our goal is to track when a user clicks the “Donate” button on our website. Write step-by-step how you’d set up this conversion using Google Ads, from goal creation to verifying the tag is firing correctly.

    9) Let’s say we just launched a new Contact Us page. You need to track when someone submits the contact form. Explain how you’d use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to set this up, and how you’d test it to ensure it works correctly.

    10) You want to know which ad generated the most volunteer sign-ups. Write one example UTM link for a Google Ads campaign named “Fall Campaign” that tracks traffic to our Volunteer page.

    11) A conversion stopped firing suddenly. List the three main things you’d check first and briefly explain why each one matters.

    12) Why are you interested in this volunteer position? What do you want out of it?

I look forward to your response.
